Living in Arab vs Albertville, Vs Guntersville, vs Scottsboro

Hey guys, heading down to look a few houses in these towns. Even though I have been doing tons of homework on each town I lack local knowledge of each.

Again I'm 55 my kids are grown. I'll be spending the majority of my time fishing and my gal loves hiking almost daily. We will enjoy going into Huntsville to a few local Country bars. Other then that we are pretty simple folks . Love breakfast places to eat, Being social.

    Thanks Guys.

I just got to Lisle, Illinois. Spent 40 minutes after merging from I 65 on I 80 West to go 4.5 miles. East bound I 80 at a dead stop for miles and miles.
You have to be happy moving from this nightmare.

    Scottsboro is nice.

Just my opinion but albertville would be last on my list. The other 3 towns are fairly similar in size and in retail. About the same distance to drive into Huntsville also. Obviously both scottsboro and guntersville are going to be close to the lake. You mentioned hiking. Lake guntersville state park is one option and there are numerous hiking trails near Huntsville that are part of the land trust. For the hardcore hiker there is the walls of Jericho in Jackson county.

We lived in Sardis City just down the road from Albertville. Wish we were still there.

That is one of the worst traffic areas in the Chicagoland area. That five mile strip on a Friday is deadlocked. It is also very bad on Sunday evenings.

Albertville is the one town I feel I know the least. It does seem that living on the west side of the lake would be beneficial.

I think Lockport is on the left when I am going North on 355 to the Maple Street exit to Lisle.

Traffic on the main 431 thoroughfare through albertville and boaz can be rather frustrating.
