High winds- Champlain Alternative for today?

Southerly winds 15-30 with gusts up to 40 today. Does not look like a lot of places to get out of this wind.
Any suggestions on a small body of water close to Champlain for today?

Champlain is huge, it would be good to know what region you’re fishing (Plattsburgh, mid lake, Ti, etc). Bass is off limits in Franklin and Hamilton counties so depending on where you are, youll have to drive quite a ways to fish.

-upper end there’s Chazy and chateaugay
-mid lake you’d have to drive to lake placid
-lower end you have schroon and brant,

Either way, You’ll be looking at driving quite a distance to get to a lake that is open for bass fishing up that way.

In Plattsburg area. Went to the Chazy River in the morning and trailered around to the passage in the afternoon but it was not protected like I thought it would be so we grabbed lunch and then drove back to Marine Village Cottages. Looks like tomorrow may be a blowout as well . Is so heading back to Virginia a day early

Tavern time to hear all the fish stories. Sorry been there done that as I'm sure everyone here has too. Sometimes the best thing to do is keep the boat on the trailer where its safe and so are you. Save yourself and all your equipment for the next trip when winds are approaching 40 mph.

How did you do on the days you got to fish?
