I’m going to age myself but, I filled up my Honda the other day. It took 9 gallons and cost $41.00. When I went in to pay I told the younger guy behind the counter, “When I was a kid you could buy 9 gallons of gas for less than $1.50, plus you would get a free glass, cup, silverware, or stamps”. I told him I remember gas being $.15 a gallon. I did not tell him that the gas would have been pumped for you, your oil check, windows cleaned and even your tire pressure checked if you asked. We sure are living in different times. I would prefer having less and living in simpler times.

Yesterday, I paid $2.099 a LITRE! Cost me $50.00 CND to fill the 6 gallon (US gallon) tank on my boat. Converting liters to gallons and CND dollars to US dollars, that’s $6.18 US per US gallon. And, this was bought at a gas station, not a marina.
