    Engine stall while docking

    I have a 2010 Sun Tracker pontoon with a 2010 Optimax 150hp (serial# 1B765888).
I have owned it for 2 years now and it has been running great. However, twice this season the engine has stalled while pulling into my slip (not a great time to lose engine power). It happens when I’m shifting in or out of neutral. From the reading I have done I have a couple potential reasons why but wanted to see what the group thinks.

    - Could the engine rpms at idle be too low? I checked on my VVM app and my engine is idling at 550. What is the ideal rpm?
    - Could there be an issue with the shift cables incorrectly triggering a sensor that kills the engine?

This has only happened to me twice but obviously an issue I need to address. Thanks everyone.

Possibly a problem with the shift slide/retainer nut being too tight and causing the slide to bind. Excessive amounts of grease can also cause the switch to stick.

PCM controls engine RPM. Target when fully warm is usually right around 565.
