    Car wash soap and wax

So I just took delivery on my 2022 Chevy Tahoe and I’m looking for some recommendations on good quality car wash soap and wax. I’ve seen a lot of reviews online but it looks like it leads to more questions than answers. Any help is appreciated.

Unless it gets real dirty. I try not to use any soap just spray and wipe with a soft cloth. I just don’t trust the chemicals in the soap.

I use a foam cannon, and I really like Maxi Suds. If you're not using a foam cannon, I wouldn't really recommend that one specifically. Adams polishes or Chemical Guys would be my choice.

If you really want a soap that has no harsh chemicals, Johnson & Johnson Baby shampoo. It won't be much of a waxing soap, but as mild of a soap that is made. .

    Baby that new Tahoe....pun intended.

Maybe the vehicles finish has developed enough to have manufacturers call for something else, but I remember that you're not supposed to wax your new vehicle for quite awhile after it leaves the factory. I found some "No Touch" car washes, and use them all the time. Partially because the DELUXE wash is supposed to clean the underside of the vehicle, reducing salt/rust problems. $17 a time is reasonable. I usually go to the one in Covington, but have used the one in Auburn, and the one in Edmonton, AB.
Don't bother me, I'm screwing for virginity.

I killed a 12-pack just to watch it die.

Any of the name brand car wash soaps will be fine. The best process to do would be to wash well, clay bar, then apply a spray protectant. Yes, clay bar is a good idea on a brand new vehicle. Trucks can sit in the rail yard for weeks before being shipped. Plenty of contaminates from rail yards and train emissions.

If you have never used a clay bar it is amazing what they will do for the finish on a car or truck, whether old or new. I am puzzled by the folks that don't trust the "chemicals" in car soaps. Putting a product on the market that would damage the finish on an expensive vehicle would be product liability suicide.

Adams polishes for soap. It is PH neutral.Turtle Wax wax seal n shine for finish. I also use a clay bar, iron remover and an alcohol spray when needed before the Seal n Shine.

I’ve got a $20 a month card at a local car wash. I can use the card up to 5 times a month with any vehicle. They provide vacuum, cleaners and cloths. Haven’t washed a car at home in two years since getting that card.

I bought a foam cannon off Amazon. I love using it, it is so much fun watching something as big as a truck disappear into a big cloud of foam.

You'll get tons of opinions so here's mine. Any PH neutral soap will work. neutral PH helps prevent water spots. The more soap suds the better. Soap acts as a lubricant to prevent scratches. Try wiping a small area with no soap and then do it with mega soap. You'll see how much lubricant soap provides. Please don't take it through a car wash. I just spent 10 hours on a black 2020 Ford Explorer doing a paint correction from car wash. Be sure to use the 2 bucket method for washing or rinse mitt real good with hose before dipping back in soap bucket... I recommend using Griots 3 in 1 spray wax. It will give you minimum 6 months protection and can be found at any auto parts store for $20.

Here's what automatic car washes do. The whole car looked like this. Before and after pics.
