Charcoal or wood is better than gas for flavor, but a gas grill is sometimes more convenient.

I am pretty sure the pellet grill/smokers have killed gas grills? I used to have one but once I got a Big Green Egg and a pellet grill I gave my gas grill away. There is a enormous difference in the flavor. If I have to use gas I may as well just have made them in a pan on the stove at that point.

Let me help you here. Set up your grill for indirect and put some wood chunks on the coals. Take your smash burger balls and put them on the cool side of the grill for about five minutes. Then take them over to the Blackstone and press them down

I like Charcoal the best, but if I'm pressed for time I'll use a griddle pan on the gas grill.

Charcoal only. If I'm pressed for time, I'll cook it on the stove. Same thing as a gas grill.

I am definitely a charcoal or wood fan but I whipped out the wallet about a month ago and finally bought a good grill. This Napoleon gas grill is on another level. I am by no means a master chef but that thing is making me look like one. Everything tastes amazing on it and that “grill” flavor has never been so good.

I didn’t want another grill but wanted a griddle. I found a Hunsucker griddle for my Webber kettles and it works a treat. You don’t get the fine temperature control of a Blackstone but you get griddle cooking with charcoal flavor.
