I’ve been hoping someone else would start a thread on this so I wouldn’t have to but here we go. Kenny (the dentist) was one of my best friends in dental school and we kept in touch over the years even though we’re about 10 hours away. We used to fish the night tournaments together at False River (it’s actually an oxbow lake). Here is some details I recently received not covered in the article: there was a dock video camera that caught it all and is being ruled a complete accident. The other driver was killed on impact and his son was thrown out without a life jacket on. Kenny’s son, Jude had his life vest on and kept the other kid up until help arrived. The accident happened Friday night and they found Kenny this morning (Sunday). He had no visible trauma so they think he was knocked unconscious and drowned because his life vest failed to deploy.
I was reading through our last texts from a few weeks ago and he had sent fishing pics with his son. We texted about getting the families together to fish and them coming up for a Hog-LSU game and hanging out. I’d encourage y’all to quit texting friends about getting together and just figure out a way to make it happen! We don’t know how much time we’ll get to do it. Please keep both families involved in your prayers!!
