    Bad Gas Symptoms

For those of you that have "bad gas", whether water or otherwise, what were the symptoms.
The reason I am asking is, this weekend a few times my boat lost power while running (not shut off, just lost power). It would last anywhere from 1 to 10 seconds then the boat would take off and be back to full speed. If I turned the boat off while this happened, it was difficult to start. It got progressively better through out the weekend. Like it was awful on Friday, and it only happened once Saturday and once Sunday.
Just looking for some input before I take it to the marina. I do use Stabil 360 Marine, btw.

Could be gas, fuel filter, fuel line or even object in the tank occassionaly blocking the pickup opening.

Your partner will tell you if you have bad gas.

Doesn't sound like bad gasoline to me.

Sounds like a fuel issue. Possibly filter or the line has gone bad. Newer fuel line is made for ethanol gas. The lining inside the older line can break down and then youll get small bits of it that can cause issues. Also fuel filter needs to be changed regularly.

If you have a water/ fuel separator, change the filter.

Sounds more like fuel supply, not fuel quality.

The advice above is good. My last my bad gas issue was due to lunch at Taco Bell, so not sure how much help I can be.

I'm changing what I can change. Have plugs, fuel separator, and a primer ball coming

    Too answer your question.
Lack of power and top speed. For some stupid reason I stayed into it hoping whatever the problem was would clear itself.
    It went boom.

Outboards. Two states of operation. Blown up or going to blow up.
