How is the Potomac looking and fishing this week. I finally have some free time to hit the water this “hot” weekend and was deciding if I should fish the Upper Bay or Potomac with my son. I’m sure it will be packed. I use to fish the Potomac 2-3 times a month during the middle part of the week. Now with kids and sports I’m lucky if I can get away 2-3 times a season. Any major tournaments out of Mattawoman, Leesylvania, etc this weekend?

There's still a bit of floating junk at the entrance to Mattawoman Creek from the rain 2 weeks ago, nothing major but I did slow down quite a bit to navigate thru it, once out on the main river its pretty clear with the occasional floater, just keep an eye out.
