Protecting Your Ghost Trolling Motor in Brackish Water; Installing a Prop Shaft Anode

Thought I would share with you a little known secret to protecting your Ghost Trolling Motor when used in brackish water like the mouth of the Columbia River, the Delta, etc. by installing a Lowrance Ghost Prop Shaft Anode. This is a genuine Lowrance part that you can order directly from Lowrance or from anywhere that sells Ghost parts. It is quick and easy to install, as seen in this video:

One thing to watch with this anode. I put one on my Ghost just like Marc did. I hand tightened it pretty tight. After a couple of trips and while fishing I pulled the TM out of the water and the nut was gone. I was lucky I didn’t lose the prop as well. Fortunately I still had the original prop nut in the boat and was able to put it on. Not sure if I did something wrong but just monitor that nut. I have ordered another one as I also fish brackish water.
