Most if not all of the larger sticks/clubs has that string ............. I think it is for balancing and weight distribution.

Balance is impressive and the trick she's doing is no doubt a challenge, though I don't really see the reason to do it. Definitely NOT a fan of the Greek yoga pants, however.
