    Transducer Placement Question

This is the transducer location from the factory. HB Helix 7 MSI. I think I need to make some adjustments. Have had the boat out one time and it appears the side imaging is working. Never had SI before so at least I think it’s working right. I lose depth and bottom at about 8 mph though. My question is before I start making minor adjustments up/down do I need to move the entire transducer to the right. There isn’t much cable available to move it much. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

It'll never work where it's placed now. Here's general guidelines. https://support.garmin.com/en-IE/?fa...S15IjHg6mm7Od7

Because it’s too close to the step in the hull?

Move it right 2-3". Keep bottom of it .25" below hull. I can read depth on mine at 35mph+. However, mine is so low it acts like a small trim tab.
