    little advice please

I could use a little advice, I had a local dealer install my jack plate, plate and motor. After I got the rest installed I checked prop to pad. With the plate all the way down 3.35" PP. When I installed the plate on my old boat I but it more in the middle. I'm thinking of lowering the motor, Don't know if I'll gain anything? If I move the motor up I have less than a inch till prop slip. Can't go down any less then 3.35 PP.Unless I'm trying to run flat out, the boat performs better at the bottom. Should I lower the motor?

    Thanks

I think so. I like for the motor to be about 3.5” under at midway on the jack plate. That can vary from boat to boat but that gives you some travel either way.

Thanks for the reply, Looks like it's cheaper to work on the boat. then put gas in it!
