Does the 3 in 1 put out a better down scan and side scan picture vs. the 2 in 1?

AI 3in1 and AI 2in1 are exactly the same when comparing StructureScan imaging.

The only difference between them... One has elements for standard 2D sonar imaging, the other does not. Otherwise exactly the same as NoCAL has stated.

I talked to Jones Trolling Motor, was looking at units that currently come with 3n1, they advised not worth the trouble generally to switch from the 2n1 unless you need 2d sonar, ie if you don't have a through-hull, etc already.

Yes, all modes are available in any combinations.

Depending on hull and mounting the 3n1 may not read while on plane. Some prefer the 2n1 so and in hull 2d will work while running
