Yamaha HPDI just turning over when starting?

Motor is a 2006 250 HPDI Vmax. Motor ran great all day the last trip out until it was time to leave. Go to crank it up and it just kept turning over, almost like it didn't have spark. Ended pushing the hot foot all the down and it fired up. Ran straight back to the launch and put it on the trailer. Was able to get it to start several times normally after. First time having an issue like this. I did verify that the kill switch was attached and battery connections were good and tight.

I've had a similar issue before. I would check fuel delivery first since it is likely the "pump" from the throttle delivered just enough to spark and ignite the engine. Fuel bulb, low pressure fuel pumps, etc. I would check all of these and see what that gets you.
