Drive to Pickup up new boat

Got a 9 hour ride ahead of me this week to pick up my new boat. Considering making the round trip non - stop. Would put me leaving around 2am and getting back around 10pm. Any advice? Should I do it or drive and sleep the night and pick it up the next day and drive back?

I would try and spend the night. Stop and fish on way home.

New boat is less attractive when wrapped around the tree you hit while nodding off at the wheel. Pick it up and get a good nights sleep while the new ride smiles at you from the hotel parking lot

Make a trip out of it, no reason to push it.

Too risky. Sleep. Go try boat out close to dealer. Then back to dealer for any follow up needed.

Spend the night. No need to take the risk.

Take someone with you if you can. If not, drive and spend the night, then pick up your boat as early as possible and drive back. I wouldn't get much sleep with my new boat in a hotel parking lot. Depends on how young and healthy you are.

Last year I went to Gonzales, Texas on Sunday. Got home at 6pm with new truck transmission. Left at 11pm for Phoenix to grab my boat. Got home 8pm next day. I had my ole lady drive at night while I slept

Drive, pick up, fish, sleep, drive, fish, drive home. In that order.

I’v done it twice to the Basscat plant. It’s 9 hrs one way. First time I left at lunch and stayed in a hotel night before in mountain home. Second time i did it in a day, I left at 2 am and got home around 9 pm. On my third and fourth Basscat I just paid the $500 delivery.

I would drive down pick up the boat and then find a new lake to fish and just take my time getting back.

Hope you're listening about sleeplng. I's not worth having something happen on the way home.
