    Yes, It shoots 360. You pick the view while editing. You can use any of the gopro mounts.

    You can't plug power in without it, unless you remove the battery door, or open it, and leave the internals exposed. Probably not a good idea on a boat. The USB port is behind the battery door. To use the mediamod you remove the battery door and slide the camera in to it plugging in to the USB port, reestablishing the seal. Then you have USB and HDMI out on the back of the media mod. It also has a better mic, more directional. You can select between rear and front mic.
