LVS34 mount position ,which one is correct?

In the pictures one shows mounting the 8 degree bracket up and the other shows down. The instructions that come with the LVS34 shows mounting it pointing down and on Garmins website it shows it up. Both are for the shaft of trolling motor. Thanks

I did mine with the 8* gong down as show in pic #2. I believe the down helps it with the correct angle for Perspective view.

Right now the perspective view is useless on the Ultrex because I can’t stow the motor, it doesn’t matter if the 8* is up or down.I would have to lift the motor off the base, switch to perspective mode and before I stow the motor reach down and put it back in forward mode to put it back on the trolling motor base. Unless I’ve done something wrong that’s the issue I’m having. I can’t seem to find any information on it.

First pic is NOT using Perspective Bracket. Forward and down vie only
Second is if you DO use the perspective bracket.
In both cases, arrow must be up.

I tried both ways using the perspective bracket. It did not matter which way I did it I cannot use perspective mode unless I lift the motor off the base and put it in perspective mode. It’s pretty hard to do leaning out over the bow of the boat.

What is your setup (boat, etc.)? Just checked mine, I can stow Ultrex with it in perspective mode. Now the bracket is placed above the U bracket on tm mount.

He must be stowing it with prop towards port. Opposite of yours.

Ya can move it slightly right or left of center to correct that. You just need to be aware of your new angle it’s all relevant

I have mine set up for the port side opposite of yours. My boat is a multi species Triton and 60” Ultrex and it sits higher in the water than yours. I have the 34 transducer 6” up from barrel of trolling motor. I do not think I can put it where you have it and keep the transducer in the water. Thanks for taking the time to post the picture.

So just stow the motor and then rotate the mount on the shaft until the perspective mode position clears the base? That sounds like my only option at this time. Thanks

I made this bracket out of 1” pvc. You can adjust the angles north south east west. You can build it to any specs you want. Two hose clamps hold it on to the shaft. All you do is loosen the hose clamps and rotate it out of the way to put your cover on. It works great for a $15 investment.

The main bracket to the shaft gets centered on the shaft to use perspective view. If your main mount on the shaft is pointing up when you go to stow it, it's parallel to the motor. Not what you want for perspective.

Make sure the main bracket mounted to the shaft has the place for the bolt looking straight down the center of the motor, not on the side.

Sorry but I really can't believe people are actually using the Perspective mode. Never saw any pros use it. I used the 8* mount and the bolt and allen key. Tightened it good in forward as that knob kept loosening. Solid now.

But back on topic, Eric660, You can't stow your motor like Fishin Couillon has it? Pics of your setup?
