Come down here and fish Pines --- Neutria (sp??) are plentiful, swim like otters and look like big rats. I have thrown a spinnerbait right on top of one before and all he did was give me a look! They build big piles of brush like a badger and lay out to sun on a nice day.
Then there are the occasional allegators. ..but they mostly hide. We almost always see wildlife while fishing, it's great!! Deer, racoons, etc.

i have seen otters on pines and caddo. mainly those nasty rats though.
i have seen them nasty rats on Fork before,, we don't have many otters in Kansas.. kinda unusally i've seen Beraver, Muskrats, Mink, deer, Red Fox , Coyotes, Eagels, and all kinds of critters while fishing,, and every once in a while i see fish
