Taking off jackplate from a 190 super pro?

I'm fighting a garage that's just a hair too small and am considering taking off my jackplate. It's a 2003 that came with a factory 10". Anyone done this before? How much performance am I going to lose?

If the garage is yours, some people build a little bump out on the back for the outboard to let the boat fit.

Garage backs up to the kitchen and the wife won't let me have the cabinet space.

If your trailer isn't already a fold-away, I think Fulton makes a kit to add one. Guess it would be a pick your poison situation, remove the jackplate or cut your trailer tongue.

Removing jackplate will definitely change the balance of the boat.
