Pulling a tube with an outboard

I have a 02 stratos 21 magnum with a 250 XB. Wife wants to tube a little this summer does anyone know of a harness that won’t get wrapped up in the prop kind of looking for something that’s stiff till it gets past the engine and clips onto both of the transom hooks. I run 8in or set back with no poles.

I used one of these for years when I had a Stratos.

Tow ropes, other models/brands of harness and tubes here https://www.overtons.com/watersports...es-tubes?sz=48

    Don’t forget a tube pump 12v or 110v.

    Have fun.

I made my own "Y" tow harness with stainless carabiners and foam tubes to keep it afloat.

What was said above and one of these in between the connection and tube. Will make it a lot more fun for the passengers and keep the tube from diving also.

I have that exact same one. Got it to tow the nephews on a lake house rental trip a few years ago. Going to use it again next month on Lake Lanier.

Get the booster ball and a tow rope with the appropriate capacity for whatcher towing. The harness will have floats on it. The best setup is a towing pilon on the back deck if you wanna spend the money.

Fully agree on the booster ball, makes a huge difference. As far as the pylon goes, i have never seen one that allows towing a tube, they all seem to say not to. Maybe something has changed with a newer style??

Lots of past threads with guys mentioning that they have used towables from the ski pylon for years with no issues.

I am still torn on what I want to do with our boat. I am leaning towards the Y tow harness and the ball bouncer deal.

Our kids are 7 and under, so the weight/drag will be minimal using the ski pylon.

I love the idea of the turboswing, except the cost. I like the idea of a little more protection on the Outboard cowling when fishing shallow too.

For me, ski pylon for towables for several years. Pic attached. I owned the inflatable ball just never seemed to need it. I do like the turboswing idea but literally never had an issue with the ski pylon.
