    188vs Boat buckle placement

    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone out there has a 188 with boat buckles for the rods for reference. I just got 2 kits and the low-pro concealment parts, but was curious where people were installing them at the front.

I have the 178 which is similar to the 188. My rod buckles came installed from the factory. I will snap a pic tomorrow. They are mounted In the gunnels.

Thanks. I haven't installed them yet so that would be helpful.

Here are mine. Take into account my boat is a foot shorter. Mine were installed by Ranger. It should give you a good relative area on your boat. Sorry it took a while.

No worries. Thanks for the pics.

I don't think I can place mine in the same spots as I have the factory rod holders installed so it would be a lot of work to get them in that position. I guess I'll have to improvise. Appreciate you sharing the pics though.

You can also use a router/dremel tool and mount the base in the deck, right next to the gunnel.I had to do that on a Nitro I used to have, the gunnels just didn't have the height for them there. Worked great.

Just wanted to second this. Mine were in these same exact spots on my 188vs. Worked like a charm.
