    1979 168V pad?

    I looked at a 168v today. The boat needs a total rebuild but what i found odd was the pad. Most pads are a v shape, this one was an inverted v. I looked under the boat and about the middle of the boat the pad was a very shallow concave deepening as it went towards the transom.
    I read about all kinds of boats, check them out when I can but I haven't saw this before or read about it. Anyone have any info on them? Apparently it wasn't a good design or they would've kept making the pad that way.
