    Torquemaster 2 lower vent screw

What is the best tool to use to remove the vent screw on my lower unit? I've read big screw drivers, drag link socket, impact drill. Obviously, I'm having trouble removing it. Yes I've changed lower unit fluid many times. But this sucker is stuck.

Also what lower unit fluid is recommended for TM2?
And does anyone have part number for a new vent screw?

Go get the largest name brand screw driver, Mac, Cornwell, snap on etc. have a new screw and gasket available, next option is a impact driver, the kind I tap with a hammer, available at northern tool, or any of tool trucks, but also get the screw driver to re install new one

I only use a hollow ground screwdriver or bit that tightly fits the slot.

Thanks for all the help. Went down to Bunch Marine this morning. One of the sales guy found a driver and popped it loose with a lot of elbow grease. I got a new vent screw there and I'm good to go for now. Still gonna look into an impact screwdriver for next time.

    Thanks again.

One note on Impact Screwdrivers and Drain/Vent screws: Be very careful, and definitely do NOT use them to tighten the screw. Two other manufacturers that I shall not name used o-ring seals, and far too often, if you tried to use an impact screwdriver, the first few threads on the INSIDE would break, leaving the screw dangling in the hole with no way to remove it easily. Hard to understand until you've seen it happen... but always something to keep in mind when dealing with impact screwdrivers.

I cringe when I see impact driver and drain/vent screw used in the same sentence!
