    New owner/tons of questions

Hi all. I recently purchased a 1990 184 with a 150 Mercury. I have searched and am unable to find any kind of owners manual online. I am hoping this will answer most of my questions. One of the biggest problems I have is that all of the labeling has worn off the switches so I am struggling to figure out if things aren’t working or if I’m even using the right switch!

Congratulations and Welcome to the Champion family!
I am sure someone with that specific boat will be along soon to share the info with you.
A few pictures would be great!

I found some pics of the switches, so I am good there. I can’t seem to figure out why my front livewell doesn’t fill. I filled with water while on the trailer and it drains well. While it was draining I closed the valve under the throttle and the flow stopped. I’m not sure what else to try.

You have to have your Champion in the water. One of those switches is a live well fill switch. Close the flow valve and turn the switch on, a live well pump will pump water into the live well. Same for the rear live well.

    not sure if 90 184 is similar to 85 184 ??

Check to see if VALVE that is in the front livewell is OPEN or SHUT.

My 1985 184 bow livewell fill valve is closed; due to I never use the front live well.
    *****
My stern livewell fill valve is OPEN.
Could have water in front or back or both.

I own a "new to me" Champion. FYI, the owner's manual that I got with the boat is very generic in nature. It would appear that maybe it was published for all models, and possibly even for multiple years. It is of some help, but I wouldn't consider it packed with really good, specific info. OTOH, maybe there is actually a better manual that came with the boat when new... not sure.

Manuals were for years, not models, as you surmised. And, yes, pretty generic.

To the OP…..are you sure the aerator. (Fill) pump is operating?
