    Do-It Midwest Finesse Mold question

I poured some jig heads using Gamakatsu 114 size #1 hooks with the Do It wire hook keeper and I noticed that the keeper is extremely loose on these to the point where it won’t penetrate a Z-Man plastic well. Id have to jam the bait as far as possible then hope the it grabs some plastic.

has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, how did you fix it? My only thought would be to drop some molten lead at the connection to hold it in place, or super glue.

Lead is too soft, heat the hook before pouring, hold head when removing sprue. These tips should help.

You have to really pull Elaztech to get the keeper to work. I quit using them and use super glue.

I put a little extra powder coat where the shank and keeper meet and bake them. Comes out solid.
Another option is to whip finish them with fly tying thread and glue it.
