    Prop help 2006 Ranger z21

2006 Ranger Z21 yamaha 250 hydraulic jackplate. 25p tempest plus brand new washes out bad. With the wind or currents help it will get up on plane going into it no chance. My question is should my boat really wash that prop out that bad or do I have another problem I need to find? Prop is how it was out of the box haven't messed with any of the plugs yet

No need to ask questions until you adjust plugs.

I'm on it! Just try to get all the information I can during the week being a weekend warrior. I'd like to try and actually catch a bass other than working on this thing. Just wasn't sure if that would be normal. Guess I'll report back

Is your 250 an HPDI? They blow props out bad. Thats why Yamaha uses a 15+ inch diameter 3 blade. Your prop has much less bite/blade area at 14 5/8. If you cant get the venting to 3500-4000 rpms on holeshot, You will probably want a big 4 blade like a Bravo1 XS or Marks Razor4 XL.

If you have poles, The 3 blades fall short normally.

What plugs if any do you have in the exhaust holes?

I run a 23p tempest plus on my 05 Z21 with a mercury. I believe I have the medium PVS plus in all my holes and don't have any issues. I did experiment by removing all the plugs and could not get on plane without a blowout.

Also, the prop I have is worked with added cup and really helped raise the bow on that boat.
