Maybe I'm missing somthing here but, we've watched satellites at night for the least the last 25 years, some were a lot brighter then others, just have to be in a dark area on a clear night. How are telling they are star link?

There are 2,100 Starlink satellites now and they are already affecting astronomy photography. FCC just gave Starlink approval to add 40,000 more by 2027. It's a big problem.

Have you seen how much crap is floating around up there? 100's of thousands of satellites and pieces of junk in orbit.

But since it's Musk and his 2000 satellites it's all his fault. Mmmhmm, yeah, ok. Not buying it.

    100's of thousands

There are less than 8,000 satellites currently in orbit. You might be talking about space debris.

Is that not what I said? Satellites and junk? Reading, it's fundamental.

NASA says there is about 500000 pieces of junk in space.

While sleeping out on the beach at Powell last summer I see this line of lit up square boxes connected to each other with a lit up rope fairly low in the sky. Takes about 10 minutes and they slowly move out of sight. Within another few minutes quite a bit higher a little lit up light goes zooming right, then left and all around and then hit the jets and was gone.

After returning home I googled to find I'd seen those starlink satellites but no idea what the smaller, higher zippy thing was.

Thanks for explaining about the Starlinks as the term Geosynchronous sort of created a serious Vapor Lock in my thought process
