Do you use your trim gauge?

When you are funding your boat do you visually use your trim gauge or go by "feel
Saw another post about a gauge and realized I very rarely if ever look at mine.

Never, my trim level is pretty hard to see in comparison to the tilt level. Running WOT, full trim is pretty much the best for speed on my boat. Also pretty sure my dual mount graph covers it up now anyhow.

Nope…Speed and RPM. Drive the boat by the seat of my pants. Never have looked at a trim gauge in any boat. Jackplate is a different story.

Both,I’d say. I drive by the seat of the pants feel but it seems like I always look down at the gauge anyway.

Never look at it. Always on feel, and I use it often. My father is a set it and forget it kind of guy.

Sometimes, jack plate height is more important, get the height set to load/water conditions and trim is by feel.

When I took the trim digital through NEMA and HDS, I did find out that I wasn't getting full trim. It was stopping at 100% by gauge and limiter but is still had 3/4 inch of trim. I adjusted it to where the limiter topped the gauge out at 99%. I gained 4+ MPH by doing that.

My first boat didn't have one. My current one does, but I don't use it. I go by feel, and I watch the fuel usage on my Lowrance to let me know if I'm in the sweet spot. I pretty much never run WOT.

I’ve never had one and have never understood the need for one.

The only time I look at it is to check for full down before I take off, then trim by feel for the speed and water conditions

Drive by feel. My trim gauge is useless. When the boat is trimmed out the needle has barely moved.

Sound. But on a triton it’s been easy…get on pad and trim all the way out
