    2002 Ranger 520 transom

Does anyone know if it’s normal to have a small gap from transom to top cap ?

I have a small 1/4” - 1/2” gap which appears to be filled with silicon or something similar under the black plastic cover. The transom appears to be solid but I’ve had problems with water getting in, which I think is from the splash well but I was redoing screws in the rub tail and noticed this gap…..

    thanks !

That is about what my last one had. It should be filled with the black flexible sealant that I can't remember the number on, and then covered with the black plastic cap. Someone will come along with the right product name for the correct sealant.
