    Live well hoses

    Hello, new to the forum.

I am restoring an older Bass Boat and need recommendation on the type of hose to use for live well drains and aerator feeds to the live wells.

Hose used by previous owner was definitely not right.

I used some clear braided hose that I picked up at Home Depot. Works great.

Agree with Javelin389. Clear braided so you can see any debris if they system starts plugging up.

I can't stand the hard plastic hose used on livewells..... Replaced all mine with 3/4" automotive heater hose and SS clamps. Clear hose available at hardware stores would work also.

Whenever I've had to replace any livewell and bilge hoses I've always used the clear tubing you can find at Home Depot or Menards...it's so much easier to work with.

Thanks for the quick responses. I ended up using 3/4" automotive heater hose with SS clamps. Worked out fine.

After cutting the hose to size, soak the hose in hot hot water, it will make the hose more pliable and easier to work with.
