Not in my opinion.
Thanks YAM. I know the 5/32 has wiggle room in the hole but it's WAY easier to use if that's ok. (I need a screw driver, bent pliers and a hammer to get the 1/8" ones out after they've been bent over....)

WHOOO now....Sorry, I just looked at my packages and realize I had the sizes reversed. So I have been using 5/32", but want to use the 1/8" which are smaller (and I think I saw somewhere that's what Yamaha recommends)....

I need to work on my reading comprehension skills. I did not pick up on the sizes being reversed. One reason that I prefer the metric system. Easier for me to understand.
Yamaha would recommend their part number cotter pin. Which is more than likely to have a metric size.
In any event, going down a size or two is no problems. IMO. A cotter pin should almost never come into play.
Many more critical aircraft nuts use but .020" or .032" safety wire as an anti-torque measure.
Hey, thanks for your info...sorry if I confused anyone. So, I'm pretty sure that Yamaha pins are 1/8".

ok, thanks.... 4mm is slightly larger than 1/8" so either one would work.
