    Marlin 1895G

I have someone wanting to trade an 1895G 45/70. I have never saw one with a ported barrel and doing a google search I see em for like 1500 bucks. Not sure the year but he bought it new about 20 to 25 years ago. Are they truly that high now?

Condition is everything, but yeah, Marlin's (pre-Remington) went through the roof a few years ago. $1500 might not be out of line at all.

That was a $450 gun 15 years ago. Not sure about current prices but there is no way I would pay $1500 for one.

You can go to Gun Broker and see current pricing information. You will find the market has changed in just the last few years. There is a strong demand/market for quality lever actions these days.

JM stamped Marlins are through the roof. Post Remingtion Marlins skyrocketted when Remington went out and that was compounded by COVID and the supply shortage. The only ones that didnt really budge were the post Remington 336. The Post Rem Marlin 1895 went through the roof especially for something like the SBL. The 1894 were going for a significant price increase as well, not quite as much as the 1895, but still a significant increase

15 bills for a JM Marlin of most any kind is nothing now days. Right now ammo of that caliber is the big deal.
