Man had a vision.
Damn. Glad I had the privilege to have met him and had some great conversations with him. Thank you Mr. B.A.S.S.
You can censor my speech but not my thoughts or will
We are living in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended
I too met him for the first time in Feb. 2013 at Expo here and I got to visit several times over the course of the weekend and I told I would love to fish his lake and he turned to my wife looked at her and said if you love him you would make it happen and a few seconds later he hugs her and laughs.. we talked to him on Sunday and he asked her if you booked the trip then laughed.. he told me thanks for supporting him all those years.. Great Man and Great Ambassador for the sport of fishing..
The father of tournament fishing.

The Bass Boss had an effect on everyone who fishes even if they don't know his name. RIP Ray.
"The man of system is apt to be very wise in his own conceit; and is often so enamored with the supposed beauty of his own ideal plan of government that he cannot suffer the smallest deviation from any part of it…He seems to imagine that he can arrange the different members of a great society with as much ease as the hand arranges the different pieces upon a chessboard.” Adam Smith, The Theory of Moral Sentiments

Sad to hear of this. My daughter's inlaws were from Montgomery. They all worked for an insurance agency that Ray worked for also. They told us he had a lot of get rich ideas floating around in that head. When he started BASS and got it going, and quite, they were all more than just a little surprised. Lived the dream for sure!
That man had the gift of one of the greatest entrepreneur minds in the U.S. of A. He had the courage to create something that became part of mainstream America. Rest In Peace.
RIP and Thank You!
Rest In Peace

RIP...there are the few who can see over the horizon and create something from nothing, Mr. Scott was one of them.
What we cannot obtain from intelligence, we can learn from experience.
His vision led to an industry that has influenced each of us, as anglers.
RIP, Mr. B.A.S.S.

One of my favorite photos of Ray and myself from back in the day. Ray was a visionary. Prayers for his wife and family.
