can you use a uhaul rental truck to tow your boat?

I'm moving out of state next month and I'm renting a 26ft uhaul truck, does anyone know if we can use these trucks to tow our boats? I was initially planning to ship my boat but if I can save money by using the rental truck then I might consider towing it instead.

I towed a car behind my Uhaul when I moved to Texas. Can’t imagine a boat would be any different.

Yup. The co that won the Mississippi regional (and a 819 to go with it) rented the small u haul box truck, and towed the boat home with that while his buddy drove his car home for him

Yep if have a trailer hitch and ball.
    Should not be no problem.
Just remember to take more time for backing.
And don't forget to look good before changing lanes.

I had to tow with a uhaul pickup one time. After I got to my destination and disconnected my boat I realized that the ball was about to come off. There's no way it was more than hand tightened. So, just check your equipment, because I'm guessing they don't.

Check with your primary auto insurance carrier to see if your auto insurance will cover rented vehicles, and specifically any trailers towed by the rental vehicle.

When a boat is being towed, it is protected from loss by the insurance of the vehicle towing it.

You will also need to disclose to the rental company that you will be towing a boat.

This also applies if you have a company vehicle - that policy typically only covers towing of company owned or rented equipment. If something were to happen to the boat, say an at fault wreck, you could sustain a loss of the boat without any method of recovery.
