Lithium batteries 100 vs 50 Trolling motor

    Hi
was wondering what people are ordering and using for lithium trolling motor batteries? 100 or 50ah? I have a 36 volt on my 521. The difference is about a $1000 between them

All depends on how YOU fish and the type of water you fish. If your regular batteries last all day, every day, 50ah might be enough. Don’t forget degrading of batteries over time. A 50ah will not remain 50ah through the lifetime of the battery.

Difference is twice the run time on a single charge. Personally I have 100s and I use them. 50s are too small for me.

Id welcome you to look at our 60 ah Impulse if going 3 on a 36 volt. There 20 percent more capacity over the 50 and that goes a long way. were finding the 60 is perfect size for 90 percent of guys running a 36 volt. Plus our 10 year non prorated warranty can't be beat. At 525.00 ea on the 60 w bluetooth w a full 10 year warranty its a deal. Give me a call

Just sold my 18.5ft ranger and had 65ah 24v set up and a couldn't kill then in 3 days of fishing at 10hr days. Now have a bass cat cougar so I will eventually upgrade to lithiums and I will go 50ah. I'm positive I won't kill them in a days fishing.

running 3 -60ah amped. im not sure how guys need 100ah. its very windy (15-25 mph is normal) here and ive put 2 full days on them and they were still going. of course the 50 or 60ah wont last as many years as the 100ah but for half the price i think its a better value

I've been running one 36v 50 amp Lithium Pro with a charger that jumps from the cranking battery to the lithium. I have never had it die once and I fish heavy tidal rivers. When you run the big motor it charges the lithium. Takes about 20 minutes to fully charge if it did die

After 'welding' a couple battery terminals I am taking the Lithium plunge totally now also. I was installing a NOCO Genius when arcing and sparking melted a couple of crossover wires for the 36V setup. Had to 'torque' off the screws to get the cables off and the terminal posts are now a little loose and the threads are trashed. One battery is fine but the others are not worth injury or messing with. Going to call my boat guy tomorrow to see what he can do..............break out another thousand or two!

I absolutely don't understand how anyone could need any more than 50 ah for a 36 volt setup. I can go for three to four 5-6 hour trips before mine need charging. And that's with using spot lock in windy conditions. Some of you guys must keep the trolling motor on 100 all the time!

I have 3 x50amp on my heavy Legend V21 has never run out of power fishing a tourny all day.

I have an ultrex from the 2nd year it was released. So not the most efficient TM either.

Never mind on lithiums for a bit.......little bit of shade tree wisdom and creative wiring may get another year or two out of AGM's.

I have two 36volt 40amp Impulse Lithium and a charge on the run. I ran it 14 hours over two trips and one derby on one charge with very little running of the engine. Have two cycles on the new set up and all seems well. Here is a picture of the battery app. Impulse are great people to deal with.

I thought that as well, I've done 6-7 trips without charging mine. However, just finished a tournament with extremely windy conditions and lots of spot lock and used nearly 50% of my 100ah batteries in one day. The extra capacity is nice, I would've nearly killed 50Ah batteries.
