    Mid depth crankbait rod recommendation

Looking for recommendations for a 7'6"ish mid depth casting crankbait rod. 1/2 to 3/4oz. Wanted a IMX Pro 906 CBR but unable to locate one. Not back in stock tell August. Any similar suggestions.

The best crank baits rod I use is the ALX Hustler. It’s a glass rod and it suits me fine.

I've been thinking the Dobyns champion 764cb would do that job. Seen good reviews on it but never held one.

I'm wanting a IMX Pro CBR for mid divers as well, looks like I'm just going to have to wait for availability. I wouldn't be apposed to the new Expride B glass but those probably won't be found until around fall.

I used the Hustler for the first time this past week and for someone who cranks a lot they got that rod right.

Phenix X13, Powell Endurance 755 CB would be really options for what you mention. Both are composite so you get substantially lighter weight than glass, better sensitivity for feeling what the bait is doing, a little faster action for not wearing you out, but they still load up the way you'd want to keep fish pinned. FWIW, the Powell is now listed as glass on their website--still says "Composite" on Tackle Warehouse--so it may have changed recently, but given that it's still listed at 3.3 oz I'm strongly of the opinion that it's actually composite. I'm a big fan of both the Powell Endurance CB and Phenix X series, and suppose I'd lean toward the Powell due to its cheaper price point.

I still need to get my hands on some ALX rods to try.

Thanks again for suggestion. Still having problems with lack of stock. Any thoughts on the Kistler Reel and feel 7’6” med?

The Lew's Fritts perfect crank rod. Think there's one in 7-6. Can't be beat for the money, really nice moderate taper, not like the whippy OG Fritts cranking rods.

Call ALX direct, I have contacted them on out of stock rods before, and they had some in the pipeline and got one to me within a week.

Also I agree with others on the Dobyns composites, they are great crank rods and work well for top water too.

Where are you looking? We have more than a few in stock. We typically ship orders same day if ordered before 2pm EST.

For what it's worth - we've never been out of stock on anything more than 3 weeks or so over the past 2 years. That's one of the nice things about building our rods here. I see a lot of people assume that if a dealer doesn't have something, that means we don't have it. Not true. We can't send rods to dealers until they put in a purchase order with us.
