Pretty sure Gary Klien did that once too at the Mississippi River to win a Flw, back in the day.

I sometimes keep a saw onboard for the occasional fallen tree across my path.

Have cut many trees after dark the night before tours....... once you couldn’t see the floor of the boat for the saw dust.... another my partner and I was waist deep in water and he was in charge of keeping an eye
on the gators while I worked the saw......

What about jumping over a low bank to get into the pond?

I live less than a mile from the Ct. River. Its tidal and subject to flooding. During one tournament at flood level a guy with a jet boat was able to barely get his boat over a small road that blocked access to another mile of fishable water. He made the move at high tide and just missed making it back in time. There were a bunch of guys fishing near the bridge and they had to help him slide his boat across the road. Other times the water has been high enough for a regular bass boat to get over the road. Once you make it there is a ton of backwater littered with laydowns and trees that have been deposited from the floods over the years. Plus it's fed by a feeder creek and has a defined channel. The guys who have ventured it during floods have done well at times. Like fishing virgin water.

Son in law has jet boat. He cuts just enough to get his boat in. We usually have the place to ourselves.

The guy I referenced was the same way. When FLW did a major on the Ct.River it was at flood stage. Lou fished a lot of tournaments as a co in both FLW and BASS trails. He was friends with some of the big name guys on the tour. They stayed at his place and he scouted with them.

They can be pretty picky here in KY. Cutting something dead probably no big deal but I wouldnt want to have KFW see me even snip a limb off a sapling etc.
