Building a rod for a good friend of mine and it is a total surprise to her. Last year she broke her crappie rod right before she came out on the river with my girlfriend and me. My gf and I decided right away that we were going to build something to replace it and we sat down to scheme up some color combos. Her old crappie rod was one of the ACC Crappie Sticks and she loved the green, but I wanted to step it up a notch and we went with a Mudhole MHX blank in green metallic. Purple was also on the list, so we settled on a Lime and Violet combo.
For the guide wraps I used a Silver Smoke nylon with a Lime Green accent.
Absolutely love the way this one turned out. We are giving it to her on Saturday when she hops in the boat with us for the MN Bound Crappie Contest on Lake Minnetonka, of course rigged out with a reel, line, and one of our jigs and home made plastics.
