    Tell Tale Temp?

    I'm posting for a friend

Should the tell tale coming out of the engine be very hot? I don't have an EFI so I have nothing to compare it to. He just did a complete water pump replacement as well.

Yes, should be 143 degrees minimum, comes from the thermostats that start to open at 143 degrees. If it’s not hot he should check his thermostats, if its new to him, previous owner may have removed them, they should be in there. if it is hot then he’s probably good.

+1... Expect the telltale water to be roughly in the range of 125 - 160 degrees, so you don't want your hands in it.

Telltale won't be present until a thermostat opens, and may come (and go) as they open and close.
