This has been asked before but.. I have a 2021 ZXR20 with Helix 12g4.. Getting ready to buy all the cables/NMEA stuff so I can see the engine data.. I’m specifically wanting engine hours so I can perform accurate maintenance… Does anyone who has done this get HOURS to show from your SHO to the Helix?
Yep, a proper NMEA backbone, the NMEA to helix conversion cable, and the yamaha engine interface cable will make it all work. We did one recently here at Foothills for a sold boat. I think the key is having the G4 units, as we have tried in the past on older versions of a Humminbird with no luck.
Mine works (G4 Helix 12 on dash) with my ZXR21. Did the cable running myself. Not too much of a pain. Engine hours was my main reason too.
