St. Johns River - Astor to Lake George

Hello All - we're headed to that area to camp on the river for four days next week. Staying at Parramores Fish Camp. Has anyone fished this section lately- Not looking for specific spots just some general info on how the river is fishing. You can PM me if you wish....Thanks in advance - Dave

We used to keep a camper at Parramores. Great place, but haven’t been in a while.

watch your speeds and no wake zones in Astor.

If you’re there on a week day take a ride to the Glenn and swim. Weekends are a mess.

Fishing, typical river fishing. Good luck.

Can’t help with the recent fishing but was camping there this past winter and enjoyed the place. Mostly crappie fishermen when I was there one couple was catching bass on wild shiners. As mentioned I seen someone get ticketed in the no wake zone.

Caution: drought last 2 months in the area! I live in Palatka so fish often...5 inches of rain since March 1 is awful... then heat burning off the waters daily... high N winds a LOT this spring too...
    have a good time!
