    2020 Ram 1500 hitch question

Curious as to what size drop you all are using, my trailer sways a bit at higher speeds, wondering if I should go to a 3" drop.

I’ve got a 2020 Ram 1500. I think mine is a straight hitch and it sits level

Trailer should sit level or a tad high in front when hooked up. Check your tire pressures. Tounge weight should be 10% or so of the total trailer weight. Low tongue weight is the most common reason for swaying.

I have a 21 Ram crew 4x4 and run a 3 inch drop with my tandem for what's it's worth.

This hitch is worth looking at, easily adjustable to whatever trailer you need to pull.

Yeah I don’t have any drop. Just a normal hitch on mine and no problems. Is your truck stock or lifted?

I have the air suspension, so I have no real idea what I'm getting when it goes to Aero mode. No issues trailering though and it's level when parked.

This is not a "one size fits all" question. This is going to depend on the coupler height when the trailer is level. And that is going to be different from trailer to trailer.

To answer your question though. You need the appropriate sized drop that makes your trailer sit level or slightly tongue low.

When I bought my new Ram (2500) it sat higher than my old GMC, I just leveled the trailer then measured with a tape measure and readjusted my hitch...I have the B&W so I'm not really sure of the "drop."

2022 Ram Rebel takes a 3 1/4 inch drop to get mine level. I have a utility trailer that takes 4".

Need more tongue weight if you're getting sway. Dropping the ball might do it but might need to move winchstand up an inch if not.

    My 2019 Ram 1500 requires a 3 1/4 drop for my Ranger RT178.

Can a ram even pull a bass boat? Couldn't resist, I would want my trailer fairly level when hooked up...

yeah, its going to be different for every trailer. If you pull multiple trailers, like I do, an adjustable unit is the way to go.
