I have a 6" Z Lock manual on mine, installed by the dealer as part of my deal with them. The Nitro website lists 2 options for the Z18, a 6" manual and a 6" hydraulic so that must be the recommended size. I finally got mine set where I think I get a good hole shot and speed. A hydraulic version would have been nice in hindsight but probably not necessary for the water I fish.

I do like the Z Lock as it has 3 bolts on each side. It was also easy to mount my Power Pole brackets to it. There is also a hole shot plate made for it which I added and reduces the back wash coming up thru it during take off and shut down.

Thanks, Tracker Service Center in Nashville said they used 8” Slidemaster. I’m just trying to get a consensus as to what other Z18 owners have used

I bought mine from Pro's Choice and I don't think we even discussed the size. I bought the boat over the phone and I think I just said add a jack plate. They used the 6 inch version. Not questioning the Nashville store but you might want to check with Nitro to see what they say is recommended as it's possible it could affect the hull warranty. Most of the Z18 stock boats I looked at a little over a year ago, when they were much more plentiful, did not have a jack plate. Probably because dealers were trying to keep the boat at a lower price point.

6 to 8 - 2" don't matter much, More offset just moves the CG back.

The Slidemaster manual is a solid plate. Bob’s for a hydraulic plate. Check with Nitro boats proper on the size you want to make sure it is acceptable on the hull. 6” is probably all you need.

6 or 8" slidemaster would be my choice. Price and availability would be the deciding factors.

I have a 6 inch, seems to work really well.
