I always throw a UV zoom speed worn, not the mag one. I have always thrown a 3/16 oz sinker, but I am wondering if I would get better results with 1/8 oz. This time of year most fish are in 1-2 ft range. what would you use in that depth range?

I use a 1/8 th oz sometimes but mostly 3/16 th on Texas rigs. Shaky heads I use 1/8 th and 3/16th with Owner Spot Remover jigs being my favorite. I also use Big Bite 1/8 th oz. jigs as a shaky head with good results.

same here, I have always gone with 3/16 oz sinker when swimming a worm, but being they are spawn/post spawn and dirt shallow, I was wondering about the 1/8 oz, but I tried it in the pond yesterday just to see and I think I will stick with 3/16. shakey is always a an owner head in 1/8 oz

Try a 10" Powerworm with a #1 > #4 splitshot 1' > 2' above the hook. You can swim it or slow roll it. The splitshot is needed to make the tail work when you let it drop, but it swims forward when falling.
Don't bother me, I'm screwing for virginity.
I killed a 12-pack just to watch it die.
Use 1/8 oz or even 1/16th oz tungsten with the swimming worm when swimming through pads. The magnum speed worm and a 7" Cut r Worm.
When it comes to swimming worms, I am a big fan of these Charlie Brewer heads. I like to use Trick Worms.

Kut Tail worm (2 on the left); Softy Finesse Worm (2 on the right). You never know what you'll catch.:
Tip: Soft Finesse Worms are the best jerk worms I've ever cast other than Yamamoto's Kut Tail! I've use different colors and they all caught fish.
