    2000 X56 Speed Issues

I bought a 2000 x56 last year with a 150 Optimax and I am just not seeing the speeds I thought I would out of the boat. It has a 12” paralift jackplate with a 23p Fury Pro. I have gotten the boat up to 57, but most of the time I can only get 52-53 out of it. I believe my problem is the jack plate running to high due to my low water pressure while running (even before I trim out all the way), but when I try lowering the jack plate it seems to be plowing in the water and I lose speed and control over the boat. Any ideas on what could be my issues or would these speeds be normal?

Check post #28, now T-bob is the man and you probably won't get his results but it will give you some ideas. You have to make sure your boat doesn't have a hook at the back (bottom of boat flat, no indentions) and it will take a lot of fine tuning the motor height.
