I have fished Buggs Island since the mid 1980's and have never heard of a walleye being caught. Two weeks ago I caught two nice ones in the same places where I was catching bass. Was this a fluke or are they becoming more plentiful in the lake?

Gaston has had some since the the late 90’s for sure. Caught 3 back to back to back cast off Eaton’s Ferry Bridge in a club tournament there in 2001. They were all really good size also.
i caught right many last spring on humps down lake on crankbaits.
Never heard of them in the lake. Just hybrid or rock fish fish as we call them,
With the broken lines.
Next time I am up there. Iam going to ask the Park Ranger.

My partner caught two last weekend off rocky points in 6’ of water, both on a crankbait. Each was about 12”.
I’ve caught several in the winter at Kerr spooning….up to 3.5 lbs.
