I've got a 96 285 pro xl with a faststrike 150 on it with no jackplate. I am thinking of adding a jackplate, partly for the purpose of adding shallow water anchors, and partly to see some speed increase. Currently I can just touch 58 GPS, prop is a tempest 23.
What are your recommendations on this? IF going with a jackplate, what plate would you recommend?

I believe that boat is 18'8" and weighs 1400 lbs. The motor is another 500 lbs. Minimum should be an 8", but once you add anchors it's gonna be a slug with the 150. Set up will be tricky.
