    Blown 2011 SHO - 258 hours - What's it worth

Trying to get an idea what a blown 2011 250 SHO is worth. 258 hours when it went. Regular maintenance done, stored indoors from day one. Repowering with Mercury 250 4 Stroke. Motor will be available 2nd week of May. Dealers are telling me it's not worth anything, which I don't believe. Good lower unit, 25 T1 prop.

I just drove from Texas to your area and had Blackbird Motors repower my Ranger Z521 with a new Mercury Pro XS 250 4 Stroke, gave me in trade $2k for my blown 2011 250 Sho with 590 hrs. on it. Sounds like we were in the same boat.

Parting it out will provide best value. Can be painful dealing with bottom feeders.

There's a company in Florida that sleeves these 4.2 SHOs. Do you know what actually let loose?

10k to rebuild (replace power head, don’t think SHO’s are rebuildable). Not sure what a working one, that age, is worth, but I doubt much more than that 10k. Cowlings are expensive, if you find someone that wants one, you may get some money there. Lower unit is the only other item I see easy value in (I doubt many really care about the internal parts, not enough savings to get it off a parted motor).

You might call Hydro Tec, they have bought those motors before I am pretty sure.

Were they able to use your existing seastar hydraulic steering set up or did you need a new one?

the ECU is worth guessing at 700-1000 to someone who has one flashed that might want a stock spare, if this one is stock.
