    2006 pro team 175 fuel sending unit float

    Just pulled the sending unit and the float turned to a black jelly like blob of goop. Anybody know why and can I replace just the float?

    The why is ethanol. Never seen just the float for sell.

    I replaced mine 3 or 4 years ago with a different type. They're made with different length shafts, but way more accurate and no needle bouncing like the OEM. My tank is 6 inches deep, so 150 MM was right for me. Much better, and perfect fit.
